“Signalen is just like any other project, and yet it is not. It is a great example of one plus one equalling three,” the jury said about the project.
Signalen is an office building in Stockholm, Sweden. Within the project, UPB designed, manufactured, delivered and installed 10,415 m2 of glazed aluminium constructions and unitised façades.
The total area of the glazed aluminium constructions and skylights accounts for 4097 m2. The unitised façades consist of 650 units across 6318 m2.
Alongside this project, façades for two more large-scale projects were being manufactured, so managing the logistics of the process was difficult. While the work was intense and challenging, the result and recognition gave us a sense of accomplishment and proved that together we can achieve more.
BREEAM is a certification system for assessing different types of buildings according to various sustainability criteria. A globally recognised system, it is the most widely used in Europe. BREEAM certification serves as the best building construction practice throughout the continent.
