“Project-specific EPDs allow us to move beyond general estimates and provide a more accurate data based on the materials and solutions actually used. For developments with strict carbon limits or certification requirements, this provides reliable, verified data to demonstrate that the required environmental performance has been achieved. Bringing this competence in-house reinforces our position as a trusted partner in sustainable construction,” explains Sanda Palapa.
Our direct knowledge of each project, its production processes, and the technical decisions behind the data allows us to deliver accurate and credible environmental verification while ensuring an efficient and transparent process for our clients.
The first project-specific EPDs have already been issued for Skanska’s development Olivin. The verified calculations confirmed a 30% reduction in the environmental impact compared with the initial project solution.
UPB has been developing EPDs for its products since 2015.
