“This project is an important milestone for UPB, as it introduces our technologically advanced architectural concrete façades to the Norwegian market on a large scale,” says Inese Jureviča, Head of Business Development at UPB. “With a strong portfolio of similar projects in Sweden, we see clear potential for this solution in Norway and believe Hamar Science Park will become an important reference. We are pleased to take this step together with our well-established partner Backe and are confident that our expertise will contribute to the successful delivery of this ambitious development.”
The architectural concept combines three distinctive façade finishes: bricks, brick slips and terrazzo. Each solution requires a high level of technical precision and close coordination throughout the design and manufacturing process.
To minimise work on site, streamline installation and ensure consistent quality, windows and external blinds will be integrated into the prefabricated façade elements at UPB’s production facility in Liepāja.
To support the project’s sustainability ambitions, RESHAPE Plus - UPB’s low-carbon concrete product line with reduced clinker content - will be used, helping to lower the project’s embodied carbon footprint.
