The cooperation includes different types of facades, for example, the ground floor will have an AOC facade with blinds, upper floors – a bespoke unitized facade with external blinds and motorized sashes. The project scope also includes a ventilated facade, curved sliding entrance doors, revolving doors, blind control system, etc.
The architecture of the hospital is based on the “Playfully Logical” as the general principle, visually reminiscing two hands that stretch their “fingers” into the light, into the city and into the green. The unique design and playful setting are designed to help patients and families to live their everyday lives alongside treatment and to create a breathing space when people are at their most vulnerable. Authors of the project have worked a lot with the healing qualities of architecture, considering factors from airflow to daylight while creating opportunities for play and creativity.
The principle of Playfulness is also integrated in the façade, for example, the corrugated aluminum cladding with limestone tiles will be produced in different widths, angles, patterns, and colours, to create a random effect.
It is planned that the production of the facade will start in the middle of this year, installation - in the beginning of 2023. Mary Elizabeths Hospital for children, young people and pregnant women will open in 2025/2026, with capacity for 900 patients and their families, as well as more than 1000 doctors, nurses, and other specialists.
