| 13. 03. 2007 | AILE group’s turnover in 2006 reached LVL 18,200,000
AILE group, being as part of the AS UPB holding, is one of the largest window and door manufacturers in the Baltic states, reached the net turnover of 18,200,000 in 2006, which is an increase by 20% compared with the year 2005 (LVL 15,100,000).
Exports have substantially affected the increase of AILE group’s turnover, and so has the newly opened glass aluminium structures production unit in Liepāja, which enabled the company to double its manufacturing capacity in this product group.
One of the last years’ priorities of development of AILE group, similar to the UPB holding in general, is the increase of exports and developing of new markets. The major projects carried out in 2006 abroad, in which AILE group’s glass structures are delivered and assembled, are the office building of the publishing house Morgundbladid, yacht sale and service centre Ellingsen and Hraunvalla school in Reykjavik, Iceland, Eksjo hospital in Sweden, Hydro central office building in Norway.
The share of AILE group’s product exports increased from 19% in 2005 (sold products) to 25% in 2006 (manufactured products).
At the moment, AILE group continues operation with the following projects: Fredrikstad stadium, Ahus hospital in Norway; Hraunvalla school in Reykjavik, Iceland, Aklagarhuset office building in Sweden. In Latvia: SAS Pilot Training Centre at the airport Riga, Sky supermarket in Duntes Street and Pundurīši office building in Riga. The major projects carried out recently in Latvia by AILE group is the Valmiera College, office centre in Ģertrūdes Street, apartment houses at Runtes Street and Zalves Street in Riga, reconstruction of the warehouse into a multifunctional centre in Liepāja.
„In 2007, AILE group’s strategic plan comprises the construction of the new Glass Centre production unit within the Pulvera Street industrial park in Liepāja. Development of operation of AILE R in the Latgale region, opening of a new production unit in Daugavpils and modernisation of aluminium structures plant in Liepāja - it was equipped with automated processing centres for the manufacturing of production, which will enable to increase the production capacity by 30-40%”, Mr. Valdis Mors, vice-president of AS UPM, chair of the board of AILE group, mentions. AILE group consists of the glass aluminium and aluminium/wood structures plants in Liepaja, AILE plastic window and door production units in Grobiņa and AILE R - in Daugavpils, AILE TKB (technical consultations office) in Riga and glass structures production unit Stiklu Centrs (Glass Centre) in Riga and the AILE group’s sale chain Logu Servisa centrs (Windows Service Centre) having 21 sale points across Latvia. AILE group now employs over 400 employees.
Keeping on cultural traditions, the international jazz festival AILE Jazz is held in Liepāja on 26-29 April.
