We would like to notify that in March 2015 changes have been made in the composition of the Board of AS “MB Betons grupa” companies. This will not cause any significant changes in the companies’ work, however, hereinafter the signatory rights will be held by the new Board Members in pairs.

In the United Kingdom UPB focuses on aluminium – glass curtain walls, double-skin facades, triple glazed unitised facades and timber – aluminium glazed systems that have been approved as highly energy efficient and sustainable products, and thus are gaining popularity in the UK market.

The annual UPB Management meeting taking place on 20 February discussed Holding’s further development steps. Considering the trends in the Baltic construction market, the geopolitical risks and opportunities were assessed. The meeting decided to strengthen and improve the Holding’s construction resource by promoting its capacity to implement even bigger and technologically more complicated projects.

UPB has been listed among the TOP50 best employers in Latvia, ranking 47th, in a survey "TOP employer 2014" organised by "CV-Online Latvia". UPB is the only construction company on the list.

The resignation of the founder of UPB Holding Uldis Pilens from the position of the Chair of Board and handing over of the reins to the next generation nursed within the company has provoked a strong response in the city this week. In search for reasons, various guesses and versions have been stated. The attention paid is even greater because also U. Pilens companion Mr Oskars Mors has left the Board of the company. Placing U. Pilens in the limelight this week, we dare guessing that this could be his next long-range strategy — to keep the finger on Holding’s pulse from the position of Chair of the Council.
