RESPONSIBILITIES
- Concept design assessment
- Assume technical leadership within the engineering team, overseeing all work within the technical domain and setting the standard for technical excellence and commercial success
- Establish procedures and documentation for designing, material and system evaluation, technical reviews, and technical solution comparison
- Research and development, including:
- Actively scout for emerging technologies and innovations within and outside the construction industry that could enhance product development and design processes
- Explore and evaluate the feasibility of new materials that align with sustainable and innovative construction practices.
- Analyse existing products for potential improvements and cost reductions
- Coordinate and oversee the design, development, prototyping, testing, initial production, and field support of new products
- Project team support and Project-specific design concept
- Mentor fellow design team members, encompassing project engineers and designers, by offering support, coaching, and knowledge-sharing to empower them to independently select system components and principal details
- Engage in Inter-Department Cooperation, collaborating with internal designers, drafters, engineers, and consultants for the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Facilitate Cross-Department Cooperation by addressing questions from departments such as Legal, Production, and Sales
- Oversee engineers, specialists, and technicians in site investigations and field reviews of existing buildings
- Independently perform design calculations in a specific area without supervision, such as fire safety, acoustics, structural stability, glass design, and thermal design
- Conducting vendor factory inspections at facilities across Europe, with up to one inspection per month
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in engineering or architecture, a Ph.D. in Façade Engineering or design is preferred
- Proven track record with a completed façade portfolio showcasing medium to large-scale projects
- Extensive experience in handling Commercial and Public Projects, including High Rises, Hospitals, Office Buildings, Municipal, and Healthcare/Medical centres
- Demonstrated proficiency (ability to work independently with minimal supervision) in at least two of the following facade-related fields:
- Structural analysis (experience in aluminum, steel, and glass structure design)
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis
- Thermal analysis
- Concept design
- Complex geometry
- Glazing and curtain walling design
- Forensic analysis of defects
- Visual programming
- Specification authoring
- Strong analytical skills for manual and software-assisted calculations, with the ability to quickly acquire new proficiencies
- Efficient project collaboration capabilities, demonstrating the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Adherence to deadlines with minimal supervision, coupled with the capability to perform effectively under pressure
- Exceptional organizational skills for handling multiple project assignments concurrently
- Aptitude for building trust and establishing productive working relationships with counterparts in various disciplines, whether co-located or working from different offices
- Effective communication skills across technical writing, emails, and verbal interactions
